Following public criticism of recent street name changes in Lagos, the Eti-Osa Local Government has renamed six streets. The council stated this is part of an effort to improve street names’ historical and cultural relevance, as well as aid navigation. This action follows a similar controversy in the Bariga LCDA, where the chairman renamed streets, including the popular Charly Boy Bus Stop, which was renamed to Olamide Baddo Bus Stop. Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) deemed the move “unconstitutional.”

The new names for the six streets are effective immediately, and residents are advised to update their records.

    Here are the renamed streets:

      • Tony Amadasun Road is now Chief Femi Pedro Road.
      • Dr Udo Wogu Drive is now Chief Adebola Dosunmu Drive.
      • Augusta Orji Street is now Alhaji Adio Mayegun Street.
      • Chike Mba Close is now Hon. Sikiru Ashorota Close.
      • Ugochukwu Orji Street is now Barr. Wale Sanni Street.
      • Fubara Dublin Green Street is now Rafiu Olukolu Street.
