Rasheedat Ajibade, captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has recounted her humble beginnings as a street vendor at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Prayer City, where she once hawked olive oil, kunu, and zobo during church programmes.

According to Daily Post, Ajibade shared her story while giving a testimony at the MFM camp, reflecting on the journey that has seen her rise from modest roots to continental football stardom.

“I was one of those young girls hawking olive oil, kunu, and zobo during deliverance programmes. But today, I give all the glory to God,” she said.

Ajibade, who recently led Nigeria to a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, was named Player of the Match in three consecutive fixtures and ultimately crowned the TotalEnergies WAFCON Woman of the Tournament.

She credited her success to a combination of hard work and spiritual commitment.

“Whenever things are tough at my club or with the national team, I pray. I do my part through hard work, but I never forget to seek God’s help,” she added.

Ajibade encouraged young Nigerians, especially girls, not to give up on their dreams.

“Please, don’t give up. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing,” she urged.
