Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has compared Tinubu to former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, highlighting what he sees as rare leadership qualities. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bwala listed eight attributes that he believes distinguish Tinubu from other Nigerian leaders.
According to Bwala, Tinubu possesses the courage to make difficult decisions for systemic reform and the discipline to demand excellence. Bwala also noted Tinubu’s strong will, suggesting that once he decides on the right course of action, he cannot be swayed. Other attributes mentioned include his open-mindedness and willingness to embrace new ideas, as well as his forgiveness, which he learned from his mother.
Bwala further stated that Tinubu shows faith in people, empowering them to succeed, and is selfless in his efforts to uplift others. His emphasis on collaboration is what Bwala specifically likens to Abraham Lincoln’s leadership style. Bwala concluded that these qualities are unmatched by Tinubu’s political opponents, which is why he remains confident about the 2027 election.
