Apc presidential ticket open for contest despite endorsement of Tinubu

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed suggestions it will print only one presidential nomination form for President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 election.
Speaking in Abuja, National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu confirmed that while the party’s National Working Committee and state governors have endorsed Tinubu as their preferred candidate, the contest will remain open. He stated that the endorsement reflects appreciation for the president’s performance but does not close the door on other potential aspirants.
Argungu assured that any party member wishing to contest will be allowed to purchase nomination forms, emphasizing that “democracy does not permit dictatorship.” He affirmed the party’s commitment to following INEC’s timetable and the Electoral Act.
He also pointed to recent bye-election victories in opposition strongholds as proof of growing confidence in Tinubu’s administration and the APC’s agenda.
