The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has thrown open the gate for applications into its Nurse, Midwife, and Public Health Nurse Tutors’ Programme for the 2025/2026 academic year. The programme leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE), a key step for those who wish to teach or advance in nursing education.
Who Can Apply For UCH Nurse and Midwife Tutors’ Programme

Educational Qualifications
- Five credits in WASCE or GCE O-Level at one sitting, or six credits at not more than two sittings

- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- A first degree in Nursing is required
- A valid practising licence issued by the Council
- Two years of post-qualification experience is an advantage, though not compulsory
How To Apply
The application runs through the University of Ibadan Postgraduate College portal. Steps are as follows:
- Visit the Postgraduate College portal
- Sign up as a new applicant and provide personal details
- Enter the security code displayed
- Check your email for login details
- Log in with the given username and password
- Select “Faculty of Clinical Science”, then “Department of Nursing”, and choose “PGDNE Programme”
- Generate an invoice and pay ₦18,000 using a MasterCard
Applicants will later take part in an English proficiency test and an interactive session. Dates for these assessments will be announced in due time.

All costs, including tuition and personal upkeep, are to be borne by candidates or their sponsors. The hospital has made it clear that it will not cover such expenses.
