Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Admission List for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has put out the admission list for the 2025–2026 academic year. For many young hopefuls, this news lands like rain on dry soil. Those who sat waiting for months can now take the step of checking if their names are on it.

How To Check NMU Admission List

At present, the only recognised way to confirm admission is through the JAMB CAPS portal. The routine goes like this:

    • Head to the JAMB EFacility portal.
    • Enter your JAMB username and password to log in.
    • Scroll until you find Check Admission Status.
    • Select Access my CAPS.
    • Tap on Admission Status and see your fate.

Now, a quick side note. If you are browsing with a phone, sometimes you just see the welcome banner and nothing more. The way around it is to switch to desktop mode. Chrome makes it easy, just tick request desktop site, and the full page appears.

What Each Response Means On JAMB CAPS

The CAPS system does not always give a straight yes or no, instead it speaks in stages:

    • Admission Offered: Your name has been approved. You must either accept or reject it right there.
    • Admission in Progress (AIP): The school has pushed your name up, but JAMB has not stamped it yet.
    • Recommended: You have been considered, but the file sits on JAMB’s table awaiting checks.
    • Not Admitted: Nothing yet. This could mean the list is not fully uploaded or your case is pending.
    • Pending: Still under review, no decision made.

    Steps After Admission

If you find yourself among the lucky ones, there are still duties to perform:

    • Send ACCEPT or REJECT as an SMS to 55019 or 66019, but make sure you use the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
    • Once accepted, print your JAMB admission letter. That paper will be needed later for clearance and registration.

    Final Word

To those who see “Admission Offered”, well done and best of luck as you prepare for NMU. For others still in “Pending” or “In Progress”, patience might be all you need. Lists often come in batches, and your name may appear on the next. Keep checking, keep calm, and keep your documents ready.
