Bendel Insurance management has apologised to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) following the incidents in their Matchday 32 fixture with Plateau United on March 28 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

‎The club management has also cautioned their head coach, Kennedy Boboye, for his involvement in the situation and warned against any repeat of such action “insisting such behaviours will not be tolerated as Insurance FC remain a disciplined and law-abiding club.”

‎”After a careful review of the circumstances surrounding the incident and the consequences there-in, the management expressed disgust and condemned the action of head coach Kennedy Boboye and described the incident as ugly and unfortunate.

‎”The management has also cautioned  coach Kennedy Boboye and his crew against a repeat of such action(s), insisting such behaviours will not be tolerated as Insurance FC remain a disciplined and law abiding club,” Bendel Insurance stated.

‎The Benin City club management advised that players, coaches and officials of the team should avoid “overheated arguments” with match officials during subsequent matches as such will only attract punishment.

‎The Benin Arsenals are braced to play hosts to Abia Warriors this Saturday behind closed doors and the club’s management has told supporters to stay away from the venue as they begin a three-match sanction without fans at their home ground.
