This is not the first time the Trump administration has claimed it has reached a deal with China to sell TikTok to US investors. However, this time, China backs the claims or at least to some extent.
According to Chinese sources, the two sides have reached a “basic framework consensus,” which includes licensing the very successful algorithm and other intellectual property rights.
