FUEZ bans unauthorised sales and collection of money from students

Federal University of Education, Zaria, FUEZ, has informed students that unauthorised sales and money collection will not be allowed.

The notice speaks directly to all students, with special attention to Class Representatives in both NCE and Degree programmes. The Dean of the Students’ Affairs Division said some students have been selling books, reading materials and instructional items, or collecting money from fellow students on behalf of individuals or groups without approval.

    What the school said

The school stated that no student is permitted to sell books, instructional materials or collect any form of money from other students on behalf of any person or group without prior approval from the Dean, Students’ Affairs Division.

That point is the centre of the notice; the rule is plain, and the warning is Clear.

    Students affected by the directive

The directive applies to all students.

It places special focus on Class Representatives in both NCE and Degree programmes. The message leaves little room for doubt; being a class representative does not give any student the right to sell materials or collect funds without approval.

    Items and activities covered

    The notice covers:

    • sale of books
    • sale of reading materials
    • sale of instructional materials
    • collection of money from fellow students on behalf of individuals
    • collection of money from fellow students on behalf of groups

Any of these actions must first receive approval from the Dean, Students’ Affairs Division.

    Warning on disciplinary action

Students have been warned to stop all unauthorised sales and collection of money.

The school added that any student found engaging in such acts without due approval will face disciplinary action in line with its rules and regulations. The warning is direct; the school expects full compliance.

    Final note to students

FUEZ has advised students to obey the directive to avoid punishment. For students, especially Class Representatives, the message is simple; no approval, no sales, no money collection.
