    NDDC Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship 2026/2027

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has opened applications for the 2026/2027 Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme. The scheme is meant to support human resource development in the Niger Delta region.

NDDC stated that the programme seeks to equip young people with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Federal Government’s local content programme and for global competition across professional fields. For many applicants, the key point is plain enough; the application window is already open.

    Professional disciplines covered

The scholarship covers these professional disciplines:

    • Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology
    • Engineering
    • Environmental Sciences
    • Geosciences
    • Information Technology/Artificial Intelligence
    • Medical Sciences
    • Architecture/Building Technology
    • Law

    Who can apply

To qualify for the NDDC Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship, an applicant must:

    • hail from the Niger Delta region
    • hold a First Class Degree or Second Class Upper Division
    • be under 40 years of age

    Application dates

NDDC fixed the scholarship timeline as follows:

    • Opening date: 23 March 2026
    • Application deadline: 19 April 2026

Applicants who plan to submit an entry should keep those dates in view; the window is short.

    How to apply

Applicants are required to submit their entries online through the official NDDC scholarship application portal.

    Documents required for upload

Applicants are expected to upload these documents:

    • recent passport photograph
    • Local Government Identification Letter
    • post-graduate admission letter from a recognised overseas university
    • relevant degrees from recognised universities
    • NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate

    Selection process

NDDC stated that candidates will be shortlisted based on WASSCE/NECO results and undergraduate degree classification.

Shortlisted candidates will take part in a Computer-Based Test, CBT, in Rivers State. A minimum score of 70% is required to move to the next stage. That sets a clear line; the test score matters.
