Keymaster::Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has a good shot at returning to action before the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface has endured a difficult year on the pitch. Last summer, he joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day, in what was one of the most surprising moves of the transfer window.
After struggling for consistent minutes in his first three months, the club announced that the Super Eagles striker had suffered a knee injury last December.

As a result, he returned to his parent club, Bayer Leverkusen, to undergo his recovery. Since then, the Nigerian has been working hard behind the scenes.
By late February and early March, he began sharing pictures of himself working in the gym and undergoing personal training on the pitch.

Werder Bremen Confirm Victor Boniface’s Return
On Monday afternoon, Werder Bremen confirmed that Victor Boniface had returned to the club to continue the final stages of his recovery.
Meanwhile, Deichstube reports that the Super Eagles striker will begin individual training on Tuesday. If his progress meets expectations, he could integrate into full team training as early as next week.
Speaking on the Nigerian’s return, Werder Bremen’s Head of Professional Football, Peter Niemeyer, expressed his elation while noting that the club will handle Boniface’s situation with caution.
”He will be carefully reintroduced to team training as early as next week,” Niemeyer stated. “We’re hopeful that he can still make an appearance this season.”
If all goes according to plan, Boniface could return to action as early as late April. This would be a massive boost for the striker, who was originally not expected back until next season.

Die Werderaner currently sit 14th, just four points above the relegation zone. With only seven games left to play, they face a real battle for survival.
