YSU matriculation ceremony date and gown collection details for 2026

The management of Yobe State University has announced the date for the matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

A statement from the Students Affairs Division, under the Office of the Vice Chancellor, says the ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. The notice is directed at 100 level students and 200 level Direct Entry students.

    YSU matriculation date for 2026

The matriculation ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

The university made it clear that the event is for newly admitted students in 100 level and 200 level Direct Entry. That gives the affected students a fixed date to prepare for; the notice is clear and direct.

    Who the notice applies to

    The announcement is for:

    • 100 level students
    • 200 level Direct Entry students

These are the students expected to take part in the matriculation exercise.

    Matriculation gown collection fee

Students are to go to the bursary department to collect matriculation gowns.

The cost of the gown is N500.

    Gown collection dates

Distribution of matriculation gowns will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 26 March 2026.

The collection period will end on Monday, 30 March 2026.

Students who need the gown are expected to complete collection within that window.

    Gown return deadline and penalty

All students must return the gowns on or before Tuesday, 7 April 2026, after the ceremony.

The university stated that failure to return the gown within the stated period will attract a penalty fee of N1,000.

That part of the notice is plain; the return deadline matters.

    Official signatory

The notice was signed by Gambo A. Ali, Students Affairs Officer, on behalf of the university management.

    What students should do

Students are urged to follow the stated guidelines ahead of the matriculation exercise.

The instructions cover gown collection, the fee, the date, and the return deadline; missing any part could lead to avoidable issues.
